The All Share Price Index gained  21.4 points to windup the year’s trading at 6,635.9 points (+0.3%), whilst the Milanka Price Index also gained 10.8 points to close at 7,061.5 points (+0.2%).

 

The total turnover was LKR1,303.2 mn (USD11,728.9 k)  vs. 12-month average daily turnover of LKR2,396.3 mn (USD21,323.9k) whilst the volume traded for the day was 48,016.0 k against the 12-month average daily volume of 74,950 k.

Colombo bourse winded-up the year with both indices in the green, where high-net worth investors and institutions dominated the market today. Distilleries saw high-net worth and institutional interest during the day against the backdrop of government paying off Distilleries LKR5.7 bn, which was originally paid by Distilleries subsidiary Milford Holdings to purchase 510 mn shares of Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation. Bairaha Farms also witnessed high net worth and institutional interest whilst retailers and institutions were active in Three acre farms. Further retail play was evident in Environmental resources investment and PC House during the day.

 

Net outflow of foreign funds was seen during the day, where foreign purchases amounted to LKR107.1 mn (USD964.0 k), whilst foreign sales amounted to LKR122.9 mn (USD1,106.1 k).

 

Market capitalization is at LKR2,210.4 bn. YTD market performance is up 96.0%.
