Market ended in red today where both benchmark indices dropped marginally. ASI dropped 1.52 points (-0.03%) to end at 5,440.01 while sensitive MPI dropped 4.60 index points (-0.09%) to end at 4,886.80.Daily market turnover was LKR 312.7m.
 
Premier blue-chip John Keells Holdings (LKR 44.6mn) recorded the top turnover followed by CIC Holdings (LKR 27.1mn) and DFCC Bank (LKR 14.1mn). No off-the floor deals were recorded during the day.

Mackwoods Energy Limited, which offered 100mn shares at LKR 14.00 per share, commenced its secondary trading today and ended as the heavily traded stock. It reached the high of LKR 16.00 and closed at LKR 14.50, up LKR 0.50. Further counters such as Swarnamahal Financial Services, HVA
Foods and Environmental Resources were among the mostly traded stocks during the day.
 
Foreign participation was 15.8% of the total market activity. At the end of the day foreign investors were net sellers with a net foreign outflow of LKR 19.8mn.
