The All Share Price Index gained 103.8 points to close at 7,317.2 points (+1.4%), whilst the Milanka Price Index also gained 56.0 to close at 6,747.3 points (+0.8%).
The total turnover was LKR1,629.3 mn (USD14,844.2 k) vs.12-month average daily turnover of LKR2,915.1 mn (USD26,558.8 k) whilst the volume traded for the day was 46,656.3 k against the 12-month average daily volume of 93,780.0 k.
Top traded counters were Lankem Ceylon LKR157.0 mn (USD1,430.4 k, +10.1%), Nation Lanka Finance LKR122.0 mn (USD1,111.5 k, +12.0%), Aitken Spence Hotel Holdings LKR57.5 mn (USD523.8 k, +6.6%), The Housing Development Finance Corporation Bank LKR54.3 mn (USD494.7 k, +6.8%) and LB Finance LKR51.6 mn (USD470.1 k, +2.2%).
Colombo bourse regained the lost momentum where both indices inched back to green territory during the day. Lankem Ceylon emerged as the top trader on the back of institutional and high net worth interest. All round investors were seen active in Nations Lanka Finance whilst Aitken Spence Hotel Holdings and The Housing Development Corporation Bank continued to gather momentum with institutional and high net worth interest. Further, mixed investor participation was evident in LB Finance during the day.
Net inflow of foreign funds was seen during the day, where foreign purchases amounted to LKR82.3 mn (USD749.8 k), whilst foreign sales amounted to LKR73.7 mn (USD671.5 k).
