The All Share Price Index gained 50.3 points to close at 7,058.3 points (+0.7%), whilst the Milanka Price Index edged up marginally to close at 7,248.2 points (+0.1%).
The total turnover was LKR3,498.8 mn (USD31,543.5 k) vs.12-month average daily turnover of LKR2,490.4mn (USD22,452.2k) whilst the volume traded for the day was 190,534.9 k against the 12-month average daily volume of 85,990.0 k.

Market dipped in the morning session, however made a striking turnaround during the evening session with both indices inching back to the green territory. Singer Finance continued to attract both Institutional and retail interest where it contributed circa 20% of day’s turnover. Asiri Hospital Holdings saw a 5% stake changing hands on the back of institutional activity. Institutions were also seen active in Sierra Cables. Further, retail play was evident in Lanka hospital Corporation and Colombo fort land buildings during the day.
Net inflow of foreign funds was seen during the day, where foreign purchases amounted to LKR215.3 mn (USD1,941.0 k), whilst foreign sales amounted to LKR170.9 mn (USD1,540.7 k).
