Sri Lankan equity market ended lower today due to wide spread investor uncertainty. ASI dipped by 58.91 points (-0.96%) to close at 6,060.95 while liquid MPI decreased by 58.21 points (-1.1%) to close at 5,299.24. Market turnover was posted at Rs.1.2bn.
 
John Keells Holdings Plc (Rs.572.8mn) recorded a significant turnover at Rs.572.8mn while recording four crossings of 1.8mn shares at prices of Rs.174.50 and Rs.175.00 respectively. In addition Softlogic Capital Finance Plc (Rs.89.1) and People’s Merchant Bank Plc (Rs.80.1mn) made notable contributions to the daily turnover.
 
In the meantime Orient Garment Plc, Blue Diamond nonvoting and HVA foods Plc demonstrated active level of trading.
 
Foreign participation stood 12.6% of the total market activity and at the end of the day foreign investors were the net sellers with a net foreign outflow of Rs.265.02mn
