 The All Share Price Index dipped 14.8 points to close at 6,454.3 points (-0.2%), whilst the Milanka Price Index also dipped 18.9 points to close at 6,918.9 points (-0.3%).
 

The total turnover was LKR1,695.5 mn (USD15,243.2 k)  vs. 12-month average daily turnover of LKR2,359.4 mn (USD21,211.9 k) whilst the volume traded for the day was 107,940 k against the 12-month average daily volume of 73,540 k.

 

Top traded counters 

 

Market continued the downward trend where activity levels were seen moderate. Laugfs Gas (Voting) made its debut trading today listing 335.0 mn shares on the Diri Savi board. The counter contributed a near 48.4% to the day’s turnover on the back of institutional and retail interest.  Institutional and high net worth interest continued in Tokyo Cement (Both voting & non voting) and heavy weight John Keells Holdings. Further renewed institutional interest was evident in Ceylinco Insurance.


A net outflow of foreign funds were seen during the day, where foreign purchases amounted to LKR128.5 mn (USD1,155.3 k), whilst foreign sales amounted to LKR230.4 mn (USD2,071.4 k).

 

Market capitalization is at LKR2,146.2 bn. YTD market performance is up 90.6%.
