SLT launches Roadmap to SMART Sri Lanka

National telecommunication provider Sri Lanka Telecom marks a special milestone in the country’s digital journey towards SMART Sri Lanka with the formal launch of the ‘NATIONAL DIGITAL ROADMAP’ under the distinguished patronage of His Excellency Maithreepala Sirisena, President and Hon. Ranil Wickramaisnghe , Prime Minister of Sri Lanka on June 11 2019 at Nelum Pokuna, Colombo.

The proposed blueprint for integrated national digitization will be presented through a comprehensive multi-faceted nexus of 16 pillars representing areas such as Smart Government, Smart Security, Smart Health, Smart Transportation & Mobility, etc. covering all facets and processes of the nation’s socio-economic, infrastructural and administrative operations.

The occasion will inaugurate the ‘Limitless You’ programme devised to consolidate the smooth segueing of Sri Lanka’s transition and transformation as a fully digitized nation; cement Sri Lanka Telecom’s primacy as the country’s undisputed industry leader in the Digital Age; and nurture the maturation of employees, customers and citizens in general as sophisticated members of a highly developed and technologically advanced society.
Minister of Telecommunication, Foreign Employment & Sports, Hon. Harin Fernando, Minister of Digital Infrastructure & Information Technology, Hon. Ajith P. Perera, group chairman of Sri Lanka Telecom PLC Mr. P.G. Kumarasinghe Sirisena, directors of Sri Lanka Telecom and several other VIPs, including leading honors businessmen, employees of SLT and customers will be present to celebrate the occasion.

Parallel to this event Digital Youth Forum will be happened in morning at same place. An awareness session on digitization will be conducted at 2.00 p.m. prior to the launch of the ‘National Digital Roadmap’ at 4.30 p.m.
