Classical and Cool by Gehan A. Cooray

Classical Sri Lankan American Baritone Gehan A. Cooray's Solo Concert brought the beauty, joy and wonder of song back to the Lionel Wendt Theatre for the first time since the dawn of the pandemic. This illustrious occasion also marked the launch of Gehan's new album (titled "Classical and Cool") which was recorded in Los Angeles where he resides, in collaboration with Grammy Award winning musicians. Both the concert and the album were eclectically crafted to showcase Gehan's vocal versatility, encompassing epic Italian and French Operatic Arias, Sacred Latin Music, Vintage Broadway Musical Numbers and Songs from Classic Hollywood Films. The concert was exuberantly attended by music aficionados not only from Sri Lanka, but also from England, France, Australia, Russia, Denmark and a number of other countries, reflecting the ability of artistes like Gehan A. Cooray to unite people of diverse cultures under the banner of Music.
