Partying is something that we, Lankans, usually look forward to at night time. There aren't many options for us to go to during the day, especially on a Sunday, in the hopes of relaxing or having a good time with our friends. Hence, the concept of “day-partying” is certainly non-existent in our culture and it is something we are yet to experience in the years to come.

Are you looking for a source of entertainment where you can party n’ relax with your friends but still would be able to get home at a reasonable hour? Well, we at The Weekend Online, have some exciting news for you. 

The Colombo Brunch Club is back with Episode Two on Sunday the 27th of March 2022. An initiative formed to instill a daytime brunch party culture in Sri Lanka with fantastic food and incredible entertainment will be held exclusively at Colombo’s finest locations; Ask for Fern and The Chiller Room. Brainchild of renowned young entrepreneur Dimitry Fernando, The Colombo Brunch Club Episode One was a resounding success. 

Having lived in Australia for twelve years and spending a lot of time overseas, Dimitry noticed how day parties are quite prominent over there and are usually arranged to enjoy relaxation in a different manner. He observed that Sri Lanka, despite being a sunny, tropical country, did not have this concept ingrained in its culture, and states that ‘Brunch’ should have been here a long time ago; “I think we need a concept that will put us on the map and get us noticed around the world for having something different. Colombo Brunch Club Episode One was a resounding success and we got great reviews from all our guests.” He further added how tourists prefer to travel around the island rather than stay in Colombo thus, providing them with reasons to stay behind and enjoy the delights of our Capital city should be a priority. Dimitry is also the Founder and Managing Director of Ask for Fern, The Chiller Room, Rhythm and Blues and Christopher Fern.

The Colombo Brunch Club will host their second Brunch event “Episode Two” at Ask For Fern while the entertainment line-up will be happening at the popular nightclub, The Chiller Room on Sunday, March 27th 2022, from 11:30am onwards. The party will feature a wide selection of the island's most renowned DJs, as well as a live saxophonist, belly dancer and a face painter. The kitchen at Ask For Fern will be taken over by popular young chef Sesha Fernando to curate the Brunch Menu and Brunch will be served in three sittings between 11:30am and 3:30pm. The scrumptious menu curated by Sesha includes Smoked Pulled Beef Muffin with Poached Egg, Caramelized Beet and Onion and Greek Yoghart, Sri Lankan Kalu Pol Pork Quesadilla with Pol Sambol and Fried Eggs, Fresh Water Chilli Prawn with Poached Egg and rich tomato compote served on sourdough and Indian Chicken Tikka with Makhani Gravy, Mint Relish and Poached Egg served on Paratha Bread. 

Décor for the event will be created by Desiree Fernando, a talented interior designer, who also happens to be Dimitry's mother! She's in-charge of the spectacular, ‘out-of-this-world’ decorations which will be displayed all around the hosting venue this coming Sunday. Further, the DJs that will be entertaining the guests include DJ Wendell, DJ Mango Boom (UK), DJ Just Because (UK), DJ Clifford Issac, DJ The Music Director, to name a few. Entertainment will also include super-talented Binu on Saxophone and Belly Dancer, Naue Reali from Brazil. 

The second release of tickets are now available and will be priced at Rs. 3500. The ticket fee covers your entry to the event, and the dress code for the day is outdoor festival themed, with shorts and shoes permitted. All health and safety protocols will be adhered to at both venues throughout the day, and they’d also like their guests to know that all staff have been double-vaccinated.
