WIM Announces 2024 Global Leadership Summit and Top50 Awards in Kuala Lumpur

Women in Management (WIM) is thrilled to announce the opening of nominations for its 14th Top50 Professional and Career Women Global Awards, with submissions accepted until August 30, 2024. This year’s prestigious event will be held in conjunction with the Global Leadership Summit at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on November 7, 2024. The summit will be preceded by a series of workshops from November 4-6, 2024.

Now in its seventh year on the global stage, WIM, a Sri Lankan-founded organization dedicated to advancing professional women, continues to spotlight Sri Lankan brands, best practices, and female leadership worldwide. Professor Dr. Selvaraj Oyyan Pillay, Director of WIM Malaysia, expressed his excitement about hosting the event, saying, “It is a privilege to bring Women in Management to Malaysia and to lead the Global Leadership Summit and the 14th Top50 Global Awards 2024. The WIM Malaysia chapter is eager to welcome approximately 250 attendees from 25 countries.”

The Global Leadership Summit will explore the theme of the ‘disruption economy’ and its far-reaching effects on leadership at all levels. Douglas Dean Clarke, the Summit Programme Head, emphasized the importance of this topic: “The rapid digitization of our world is transforming self-leadership, team leadership, and business leadership. Our interactive two-day summit will feature a summit booklet and presentations from 30 internationally acclaimed speakers.”

Dr. Sulochana Segera, founder of Women in Management and the Top50 Awards brand, shared her enthusiasm: “It is an honor to launch the seventh chapter of WIM and host the 14th Top50 Global Awards in Malaysia. This four-day event offers a significant platform for global networking and recognition, particularly for Sri Lankan women and corporate brands.”

Supported by Malaysia’s Ministry of Women Affairs and Ministry of Tourism, the summit promises unparalleled networking opportunities. Professor Emeritus Tan Sri Dr. Anuwar Ali, Head of the Summit Panel of Advisors, noted, “This summit provides a unique opportunity to engage with distinguished international and local speakers, leaders, and experts who will present groundbreaking ideas to inspire transformative leadership.”

Dilsha Ruwanpathirana, Chair of the WIM Sri Lanka Top50 Awards, highlighted that the event will unite members from all WIM chapters, including those from Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Canada, the UAE, the UK, and Malaysia, along with past global award winners. Additionally, WIM will introduce its Global Membership during the 14th Top50 Global Awards, enhancing global networking opportunities for both men and women.
