SLC agrees to play Test series in Pakistan

Sri Lanka Cricket has agreed to play the two-match Test series against Pakistan in Pakistan--the  first to be staged in Pakistan since the 2009 one – also against Sri Lanka – when a terrorist attack had derailed the series as well as shut the doors of international cricket on Pakistan for many years to come.

After successfully hosting Sri Lanka for a limited-overs series in Karachi and Lahore in September-October, the PCB has been pushing the Sri Lankans to send their team for the two ICC World Championship Test matches as well in December.

The series will see its matches staged in Karachi and Rawalpindi in December.

Since 2009 Pakistan has hosted all its Test series in UAE but it has not been cost effective for them.

However it’s not clear whether Sri Lanka’s senior cricketers who pulled out of the limited over series played early this month in Karachi and Lahore over security concerns will make themselves available for the Test series.
