EFL announced the appointment of key personnel to the company’s headquarters in Colombo with S. Senthilnathan being promoted to CEO while former DSV Regional Director Peter M. Larsen assumed the role of COO.
Senthilnathan, who joined the Expo group in 1996, is the co-founder and chief architect behind the establishment of EFL’s Indian operation. Over the past 20 years, Senthilnathan has positioned the company as one of the top freight companies in India, aggressively competing against established local and global logistics companies. Since becoming COO of EFL in 2012, he has been instrumental in establishing operational processes in order to drive efficiency and has been continuously playing an active role in customer acquisition, group strategy and business expansion.
Larsen, a Danish national, comes to EFL with over 40 years of experience in the logistics industry, having worked extensively in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa, with several globally recognised logistics providers. He was with DSV A/S - the world’s fourth largest logistics company, for a period of over 20 years. His most recent assignment with DSV was as Regional Director Middle East, Sub Continent and Africa. In this role, he played a key part in reviving the company’s operations in South Africa and United Arab Emirates.
“I’m looking forward to what I’m sure will be a very rewarding relationship with the company and our clients,” said Larsen on his appointment. “The global logistics industry increasingly has to play a balancing act, keeping on top of changing customer trends while still maintaining service quality and standards. Hanif and his team have aggressively expanded the company’s reach globally and I look forward to leveraging this to strengthen EFL’s reputation as a leading supply chain solutions provider.”
Commenting on the appointments, EFL Founder/President and Expolanka Holdings PLC Group CEO Hanif Yusoof mentioned that Senthilnathan and Peter’s appointments are part of an ongoing strategy to strengthen and consolidate EFL’s presence in key markets and take the company through the next phase of growth and expansion. Having started out as a freight forwarding operation based out of Sri Lanka 34 years ago, EFL currently has revenue of US $ 400 million with a presence in 20 countries worldwide servicing some of the most well-known global brands in fashion and retail.
