Five-star luxury hotel Heritance Ahungalla welcomed Lativian President Raimonds Vējonis and Latvian First Lady Iveta Vējone for a short stay during their 10-day state visit to Sri Lanka.
The president was greeted by Heritance Ahungalla General Manager Sisira Senaratne and was given a traditional welcome by the team.
Vējonis commented on the hospitality extended by the hotel, penning his thoughts as: “A very nice place and good staff. This is the place where you can enjoy food, nature and holidays. Thank you for your hospitality.”
Heritance Ahungalla, the first hotel along the coastal belt of the south to receive the five-star rating, is part of the Aitken Spence Hotel chain. Designed by revered architect Geoffrey Bawa, the 152-room hotel spreads across 12 acres of beachfront land and offers a host of dining, wedding and MICE and other facilities, catering to guests across all ages.
Enjoying an influx of guests year-round, the hotel has won numerous awards both locally and internationally with the most recent being TUI Top Quality award.
