Mobitel named ‘Official Mobile Partner’ for tourism summit

Mobitel will be the Official Mobile Partner for ‘Cinnamon Future of Tourism Summit 2017’ to be held on 26th September, hosted by Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts. 


The summit is expected to attract 400 participants from the Sri Lankan and regional tourism industry. 
Mobitel has stepped forward as the Official Mobile Partner for Cinnamon FOT 2017, with the key highlight being its focus on the role of telecommunications and digital services in tourism. As an innovative mobile service provider, Mobitel is supporting various industries and steadily expanding its influence in the tourism sector through its 
digital services. 


The rise of the Online Travel Agent (OTA) platform has made it easier for travellers to plan their next vacation; this is a key topic which will be discussed by renowned speakers at the summit as they share their knowledge on how technology is changing the way the travel and tourism industry is interacting with their customers. 


Pioneering in setting up OTA sites and campaigning the shift, co-founder of Booking.com, Bas Lemmens; Managing Director Dragon Trail Interactive, Roy Graff, and Partner - Swiss Hospitality Solutions, Wilhelm Weber, will also share their knowledge on how technology is changing the way the travel and tourism industry is interacting with their customers. Notably, Brekke Fletcher, Executive Editor Travel – CNN, will be the keynote speaker at the summit. 


The ‘Cinnamon Future of Tourism Summit’ is hosted by Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts to benefit the local travel and tourism industry, considering that Sri Lanka Tourism is expecting to attract around 2.3 million visitors by the end of 2017.
