Oman Air has successfully concluded its participation at World Travel Market (WTM) London held at ExCeL London between November 7 and 9, 2016. During the three-day business exhibition, the airline unveiled several key developments to the worldwide travel and tourism industry as well as leading figures in the UK media.
As part of the airline’s ambitious growth programme and fleet expansion, announcements included the launch of Oman Air’s daily flight from Manchester due to start in May 2017 and the move of its double daily flights to Terminal 4 at London Heathrow. To help demonstrate Oman Air’s continued commitment to ongoing investment in the comfort of guests onboard, two members of Oman Air’s cabin crew were on the stand encouraging visitors to try the new award-winning Business Class seat, which was on display.
An intense programme of meetings was scheduled throughout the three days with targeted members of the travel trade and media.
Oman Air Chief Commercial Officer Abdulrahman Al Busaidy said, “WTM London is an incredibly important event for us to attend and raise our profile in the international travel arena. Oman Air had a very successful few days where we managed to communicate our award-winning offering and extensive international network to some important and influential figures in the travel industry. We are particularly delighted at the incredibly favourable reaction to our newly announced daily flight from Manchester to Muscat launching next year.”

Activities during WTM also included the hosting of a small trade gathering, where Oman Air recognised its most influential UK partners for their support in 2015-16 and a jointly hosted media event with the Oman Tourism Ministry. As part of the media event, Oman Air Regional Vice President Europe Rogier De Jager introduced the airline’s annual media awards to reward the journalists responsible for the best articles/broadcast appearing in the UK in 2015-2016. The awards were presented together with Oman Tourism Ministry Under Secretary Maitha al Mahrouqi.
Oman Air has itself celebrated numerous awards since its participation in WTM London 2015 including the Best International Airline and Best In-Flight Magazine as well as awards for its new Business Class seat, which was tested with enthusiasm during the show.
