Sri Lanka Tourism, in collaboration with the Sri Lankan Embassy in Poland, arranged an industry stakeholders’ participation at the TT Warsaw travel fair, held recently in Warsaw, Poland.

The first day of the fair was dedicated exclusively to the industry and business meetings. The inauguration ceremony of the Sri Lankan stand was held under the patronage of Ambassador for Sri Lanka in Poland Tissa Wijerathne on the first day of the fair by lighting the traditional oil lamp with the embassy officials and industry members.

The Sri Lankan stand, with its colourful and attractive décor, was one of the most notable stalls of the event, highlighting all tourism attractions in Sri Lanka, which expressed much amazement to the visitors, giving them a flavour of perfectly blended culture, heritage and wildlife of Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka, which is always known for its creativity and colourful innovations, won a distinction award for the best professional and original stand, out of over 60 stalls at the fair this year. Sri Lanka received this award as a result of an evaluation done by the media personnel who were present at the fair. It was organised by MT Targi Polska. This survey was named ‘Homo Turisticus’.
Some of the selection criteria that helped the Sri Lankan stand to win included originality and functionality, aesthetics building, consistency visualization stands with the presentation, professional customer service (open to visitors), promotional materials, programme of accompanying events at the booth, etc.
