China offers Sichuan World Tourism Fair free for Sri Lanka

In a goodwill gesture by the Government of China, Sichuan Province has agreed to offer the World Travel Fair to be staged in the Sichuan province at gratis to Sri Lanka Tourism together with free live coverage of the tourism fair on Leshan TV channel.
This was revealed by Chairman Sri Lanka Tourism Promotions Bureau Rohantha Athukorala post the meeting with Vice Governor Sichuan Province, Huang Yanron and the Director General China National Tourism Administration Li Shihon on the sidelines of the Annual Conference of PATA 2015 staged at Sichuan Province.
Sichuan province has a population of 90 million people, and 2 million of them tend to travel overseas for leisure and business travel due to the economic development taking place in the region due to the expanding economy.
The Government of Sichuan Province co-hosted the 2015 annual PATA conference where by marketing the area for potential tourism.
Air China already operates four flights a week and with the marketing thrusts we will make it a daily flight said Athukorala given the marketing blitz agreed that include media cover, city wide taxi cab exposure linked to the trade push at the tourism fair targeting the top 70 travel partners on day one where a Sri Lanka day will be celebrated and thereafter the rest of the month on a daily basis one hundred travel shop owners will be invited so that 2000 key Sri Lanka specialists can be developed he said.
