Harpo’s Hotel School and Berendina present certificates to 3rd Batch students

Harpo’s Hotel School, Galle branch has continuously promoted the F&B service and culinary arts courses to  students through the gracious support of Berendina NGO. 

Their mission is to provide livelihood to marginalized rural communities and assist youth find productive employment and support with   vocational training for the (Samurdhi) low income families island wide . This ideally supports  the  HSHTM  vision to give these students the education which offers them the  opportunity to be  employed in the hotel industry, which is in great need of qualified staff.

 A batch of  22 such students completed  their basic level F&B service and culinary arts courses and some have already been employed at  the resort hotels.
At the certificate representation held at the Galle branch  HSHTM Managing Director, Harpo Gooneratne reiterated to students the importance of continuing their vocation in the chosen field and also encouraged  them  to make a profession out of it by taking the opportunity given by Berendina. Harpo also offered  them employment at  Harpo’s Cafes & Restaurants. 

 Also present at the event were Jayatissa Manamperi – Regional Manager for Berendina NGO and Asela Wijethunga, Coordinator 
Galle Branch.
