Starting of the New Year for Asia Leisure is news that three of their resorts, namely Shinagawa Beach, Balapitiya; The River House, Balapitiya and Tamarind Hill, Galle have made their way into TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards. The rankings for these Asia Leisure resorts are in the categories of ‘Top 25 Small Hotels in Sri Lanka’ and ‘Top 25 Luxury Hotels in Sri Lanka’.
Reyhan Morris, Chief Executive Officer of Asia Leisure said, “Given that TripAdvisor is driven entirely by the voice of the consumer, these rankings represent what our guests believe.” He further said, “Consumers as brand content creators are a vital link in new-age marketing. They inspire social sharing, build communities and ultimately drive sales.” The chosen categories of ‘Small Hotels’ and ‘Luxury Hotels’ are also noteworthy as they are at the core of Asia Leisure’s value of ‘less is more’ where a smaller room inventory impels supremely high focus on bespoke services.
The River House, Balapitiya with just 5 luxuriant suites is an escape to sheer seclusion on the banks of the Madhu Ganga. The River House is incidentally also ranked as one of CNN Travel’s ‘Sexy Skinny Dip’ spots. Tamarind Hill, Galle is a colonial-style manor house built over 250 years ago that tells a magnificent story - built by a wealthy Sri Lankan aristocrat, this home gained most prominence when it was subsequently the residence of the British Admiral of the Peninsular and Orient Steam Navigation Company, the famed ‘P&O Line’, during colonisation. With an oceanfront like no other, Shinagawa Beach, Balapitiya with its secluded beach is a bewitching setting.
The Group finds these ranking particularly encouraging a time when Asia Leisure has a strong thrust on expansion. They are currently involved in multiple property development projects, the soonest of which to launch in December 2016 will be a 30 room resort on the south coast in Kosgoda. On even more significant developments, the Group is currently building their first international resort in the Maldive Islands.
