D.S Senanayake College hosted the unbeaten Isipathana College at the Sugathadasa Stadium in a game which can be dubbed as the best game of the season so far. After trailing by 15 points at one point, Isipathana College managed to come from behind and end the hopes of D.S Senanayake to beat the Green Machine after 36 years as the final scoreline read 27-24.
St. Peter’s College extended their winning streak by securing the Rev. Fr. Basil Wiratunga Shield once again, triumphing over arch-rivals St. Joseph’s College with a commanding 25-10 victory in the 5th week of the 2024 Dialog Schools Rugby League, played at Bambalapitiya.
The second round match of the Dialog Schools Rugby League tournament between Isipathana and Science played at the Air Force ground in Ratmalana saw the two teams coming into the field looking to record their second win, and it turned out to be a keenly contested game, with league and knockout runner-up of last year, Isipathana, coming out victorious by 19 points to 9.
St. Anthony’s College, Katugastota, which performed extremely well and became the only side to qualify for round two from Kandy last season, will be all out to reach the Super Round of the Inter-Schools Under-19 League Rugby Tournament this year as well.
