Two young golf sensations, 16-year-old Jevahn Sathasivam and Kaya Daluwatte accounted for memorable wins at the 133rd Sri Lanka Amateur Open Golf Championship 2024, which concluded at the Royal Colombo Golf Club Course.
Over 100 competitors, including some leading golfers from India, Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates participated in this annual event, which is the second-oldest played outside of the UK.
Jevahn, a student from the Asian International School is one of the youngest to win the tournament in his very first attempt, which is remarkable.

In the final, he edged out another Indian golfer Shamit Dakane 2-1 to secure his win.
Meanwhile, Kaya Daluwatte, who studies and plays in India, beat Anumi Karunathilake, Y. J. Choi and Anouk Chitty in the final.
The F. B. De Mel Cup final encounter was won by Elsie Pathmanathan, who beat Sithara Lawrence 2-1.
The Sri Lankan pair of Chalitha Pushpika and Chanaka Perera teamed up to beat the Pakistan team to win the Zia-Ul-Haq Trophy encounter.
