Annaya, Damsath and Yudeera enter ATF finals

Three Sri Lankan junior players, Annaya Norbert along with Damsath Peiris and Yudeera Atapattu entered the finals of the Under-14 Girls’ and Boys’ ATF Week-2 Tennis Championships by winning their respective semi-final encounters played at the SLTA Courts in Green Path, Colombo yesterday.

Annaya overcame Sanvi Reddy of India by two sets to nil having earlier beaten Hasandi Jayasinghe in the quarter-finals while Diya Ravikumar of India got the better of Mithravinda Sathis (USA) in the other semi-final, also by two sets to nil.

In the Boys’ category, Damsath and Yudeera recorded comfortable wins in their semi-final encounters with the former securing a win against Dexter Yu of Hong Kong and Thuvakar Sathis of Sri Lanka by the identical winning margin of two sets to nil. 

Earlier, in the quarter-final encounters Damsath and Yudeeraya defeated Buvindu Jayasinghe and Udeera Gunasinghe of Sri Lanka.

The two finals are scheduled to be played today with Annaya and Damsath looking for a repeat performance having earlier won the Week 1 Championship.
