CH & FC targets quick turnaround against Navy

CH and FC who were stunned by Air Force Sports Club in the opening week of the Nippon Club Rugby League 2022/2023 will look to return to winning ways when they face Navy Sports Club in their second match at Race Course tomorrow.

The Maitland Crescent Club despite taking a big lead of 19-6 at half time were blown away by the Airmen who claimed a famous victory of 30-22.

CH captain Prasath Madushanka will be joined by senior campaigner Dushmantha Priyadarshana in the front row having played so many seasons together for Havelock Sports Club previously.

Soorya Dodangoda and Yohan Fernando will form the second row while their strength relies on the third row which is consisted of two former Sri Lanka captains in Sudarshana Muthuthanthri and Yoshitha Rajapaksa alongside Sri Lanka 7’s star Ravindu Anjula.

Former Royal speedster Janindu Dilshan will be a huge threat in the backline which also features Lee brothers - Avantha and Avishka.

Navy on the other hand will look to dominate the game with their heavy pack with the likes of Stephan Gregory, Mahesh Madushanka and Nirosh Perera.
Former Sri Lanka 7’s skipper Adeesha Weeratunga could also play a significant role for the sailors in the third row.

On the other hand, Army Sports Club will host Police Sports Club in another league encounter at Panagoda.

Army Sports Club was hammered by the reigning champions Kandy Sports Club 46-8 while Police was beaten by Navy SC 15-7 in the last week.  Both the teams will be desperate to register their first victory of the season tomorrow.
