Under-13 Girls’ Single Winner Prasanasa Eliyana with chief guest and officials

Hirusha Abeysinghe and Thashara Jayarathna were crowned champions at the Sri Lanka Badminton (SLB) Novices Age-Group Championship 2024 concluded at the New Saniro Sports Complex in Naiwala, Veyangoda. 

Hirusha overcame Gimhana Yagama in straight sets, while Tharasha took the better of Nishadi Thenushika in the Boys’ and Girls’ U-19 singles finals to emerge winners. The five-day competition was organised and conducted by SLB.

A record number of entries, exceeding 1,000, were received for the inaugural Age-Group Novices Badminton Championship, which was organised and conducted by SLB and its Regional Development Committee.
