In a remarkable display of talent and precision, Sri Lanka’s top female junior golfer, Kaya Daluwatte has made her mark at the Thai Singha World Junior Golf Championship, taking an early lead with a dazzling three-under-par round of 69 yesterday in Thailand.
Day one saw Kaya shining on the course with an eagle and five birdies, securing her a solid position as the championship’s frontrunner.
She was closely trailed by Thailand’s Chuc Lee, who finished at one-under-par 71 and Allyson, who wrapped up the day at two-over-par 74.
While the Sri Lankan Boys’ Team faced a rough start, they remain hopeful with three days of competition ahead. Reshan Algama finished with an 11-over-par score of 83 while Jacob Norton completed his round at 10-over-par, carding an 82.
In the Boys’ Division, Sweden’s Theodore Kruss finished at one-under-par, leading the pack as the only player in his category to finish below par on day one.
