Yuthara Linduli Jayaweera of Anula Balika, Nugegoda and Nithinsa Mandani of Yatiyana MV, Matara set New Records in the Hammer Throw at the 63rd Junior Nationals Athletic Championship.

Today is the final day of the meet conducted by Sri Lanka Athletics (SLA) at the Mahinda Rajapakse Sports Complex in Diyagama.

Yuthara Linduli threw a distance of 36.79 metres to break Shanika Samanmali of Mahamaya Girls School, Nugegoda’s record of 34.45 metres in the Hammer Throw U-18 Girls event.

Nithinsa Mandani threw a distance of 40m in the Women’s Hammer Throw U-23 event breaking A.W.A.S.M. Amarasingha (Lanka Lions SC) record of 37.77m.
