Mahamaya Girls’ School, Kandy, with a total of 25 medals, won the Central Province (CP) Inter-Schools Taekwondo Girls’ Championship 2024 held at the Digana National Indoor Stadium in Kandy.
Therefore, Mahamaya Girls’ School qualified to represent the Central Province at the Ministry of Education organised National School Games Taekwondo Championships.
Mahamaya Girls’ School clinched 10 gold medals while competing in the Under-16 to Under-18 and Under-18 to Under-20 age group categories.
Mahamaya Girls’ School also secured nine silver and six bronze medals.
Chamalka Punchihewa, Nadewmi Kodithuwakku, Sanchala Dehelgamuwa, Keshala Liyanarachchi, Keshani Jayawardena, and Yasaswi Ravindranath claimed gold medals in the Under-16 to Under-18 age group category, while Thenuli Parakrama, Methmini Ratnayake, Sathsarani Jayawardena, and Nadini Molagoda won gold medals in the Under-18 to Under-20 age group category.
