Mandarin Reid eSports welcomes Sim Racing Lanka under its expanding wings

In yet another first, Mandarin Reid eSports, the newest arm of the integrated content agency Mandarin Reid (Pvt Ltd), has moved to sign with Sim Racing Lanka (SRL), welcoming it under its growing wings.

SRL comprising of Shehan Wijesooriya, Sachintha Moremada, Muhammad Fawzul Aleem and Gandika Abeysuriya are ranked 11th, 12th, 13th, and 14th respectively in the Asian sector for 4-hour iRacing.

The team qualified third in the recently completed Le Mans 24-hour iRace, winning against formidable opponents from Indian, Malaysian, and South Korean contingents. The team was the best placed in South Asia.

The team hopes to improve this ranking next season and make it to the top 10 in Asia within a minimum of two endurance iRacing formats. The team is now training harder than ever before with the appointment of a new coach, Daniel Morad, who is noted for winning the 2007 American Formula BMW championship, the 2010 World Championship at the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals in Italy, and the 2017 Rolex 24 Hour Daytona with Alegra Motorsports.

Through its global outreach, Mandarin Reid eSports is putting its full force behind the team.

Attesting to this, Moremada, Captain of Team SRL, remarked, “We are thrilled to partner with Mandarin Reid eSports and benefits from their expertise and clout. Prashanth Supramaniam, Managing Director of Mandarin Reid Group highlighted “We must give wings to new heroes that can inspire a generation. These boys have heart and the hunger to place Sri Lanka on the global field in gaming."
