Jaliya Jayasekara, Secretary of the Tournament Committee of Sri Lanka Badminton (SLB), acknowledged the crucial role of the sponsors for the success of the 72nd National Badminton Championship 2024, which is set to get underway at three venues in Colombo from December 1.
Jayasekara acknowledged the commitment of Mobil, McFoil, GAC, 3M, ProSport Hub, and Li-Ning for coming forward to boost the 72nd Badminton Nationals, which will be held at the SLB, MBA, and Otters Indoor Badminton Courts.
“Sponsors play a major role for the success of any sporting event, and we are grateful to our commercial partners for coming forward to sponsor the county’s major domestic badminton competition,” Jayasekara told the media at the launch of the Badminton Nationals in Colombo.
SLB has received nearly 1,300 entries to its annual core badminton competition, out of which over 850 are players from schools.
The governing body of badminton in Sri Lanka has made plans to deploy nearly 60 officials as umpires and judges to ensure the smooth run of the event in which Buwaneka Goonathilake and Ranithma Liyanage are the defending title holders.
