Pakistan Emerging XI advanced to the final of the ACC Asia Emerging Cup Cricket Tournament with a thrilling three-run win against arch rivals India Emerging XI in the semi-final encounter played at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka, Bangladesh today (20).
India Emerging XI needing eight runs in the last over with three wickets in hand were able to score only four runs and ended their innings at 264 runs.
However, India Emerging XI made steady progress with their openers Ravi Sharath and Aryan Jayal adding 43 runs.
Thereafter, Ravi and Sanvir Singh consolidated their position and added 53 runs for the second wicket.
Sanvir was associated in another valuable partnership of 83 runs for the third wicket with Armaan Jaffer.
Earlier, Pakistan Emerging XI Skipper Rohail Nair won the toss and electing to take first lease of the wicket.
The openers Omar Yousuf and Haider Ali gave them a flying start putting on 90 runs and Omar who made a top score of 66 added 48 runs for the second wicket with Skipper Nair.
Pakistan Emerging XI will now meet the winner of the second semi-final between Bangladesh Emerging XI and Afghanistan Emerging XI which is scheduled to be played today at the same venue.
