Shaahid Zumri to represent Kandy SC

Vice-Captain of the Isipathana College First XV Rugby Team this year and crack centre and fly half Shaahid Zumri will represent Kandy SC in the Inter-Club rugby season, which will kick-off in November, 2024.

Shaahid completed a successful schools rugby stint, representing Isipathana First XV Rugby Team for three years.
He was named as the Player of the Tournament at the All-Island Under-18 and Under-19 Sevens Rugby Tournament in 2023. 

He also earned a place at the Asian Sevens Trophy Tournament in Nepal, showing his class act for the senior national outfit.

In 2024, he scored 90 points for Isipathana as a dynamic utility player and played at number 10, 12 or 15 positions for his school. 

He is also a reliable place kicker having contributed for his team’s success with the boot. 

He signed-up with the Kandy SC outfit yesterday along with his current teammate Kenula Mihisara.  

Meanwhile, Kandy SC will be led by Srinath Sooriyabandara during the 2024/2025 Inter-Club rugby season.
