Skipper Sithuka, Viduneth, Nabeel steer Malay CC to title victory

Skipper and left arm spinner Sithuka Gunawardena ended with a match bag of nine wickets while Viduneth Wilson and Nabeel Rajudeen cracked half tons to help Malay CC record a first innings win over Sebastianites CC in the final of the U21 Invitational two day cricket tournament played at the Navy grounds, Welisara to emerge champions.   

Sebastianites CC taking first lease of the wicket made 173 with Sahan Kaushalya and skipper Sithuka Gunawardena sharing ten wickets between them and Malay CC in their turn helped by half tons from Wilson and Rajudeen who together shared a valuable 71 runs stand for the fourth wicket made 211 which was sufficient for Malay CC to emerge champion by virtue of the first innings win.   

Results: 
Sebastianites CC 173 (Chamindu Perera 38, Shannon Rodrigo 31, Senesh Hettiarachchi 24: Sahan Kaushalya 5/44, Sithuka Gunawardena 5/72) and 144 for 9 declared (Akash Fernando 40, Senesh Hettiarachchi 24, Charuka Peiris 20 n.o.: Sithuka Gunawardena 4/58, Krishan Rajkumar 2/40)   
Malay CC 211 (Viduneth Wilson 58, Nabeel Rajudeen 55, Achala Perera 21: Kavika Jayasundara 4/13, Shannon Rodrigo 3/65) and 17 for 0.
