The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup (Saudi Arabia 2027) Asian Qualifier first-leg encounter between Sri Lanka and Cambodia ended yesterday in a scoreless draw at the Racecourse Grounds in Colombo.

Both teams had a few scoring chances throughout this game but could not add the finishing touches and convert them into goals. The two custodians had an outstanding game and successfully prevented the opposition from conceding any goals.

The Sri Lankan Team included a couple of overseas players as well but they failed to break the deadlock with Cambodia putting up a solid defence.

Meanwhile, the second leg of the AFC Cup Asian Qualifier between the two teams will be played on September 10 at the Phnom Penh Olympics Stadium in Cambodia.

This was the first drawn game between the two teams after Sri Lanka won the 2001 clash 1-0 while Cambodia won the 2016 match 4-0.
