Sri Lanka invited for Singapore Nation Cup netball after 10 years

Sri Lanka has decided to participate in the Singapore Nation Cup Invitation International Netball tournament after ten years.   


One of the main invitation netball tournaments held in the Asian region, it will be held at OCBA Arena Sports Hub Singapore on October 22-28 with the participation of six teams.   
Canada, Papua New Guinea, Cook Island and Sri Lanka will participate as invited teams while Singapore and Singapore ‘A’ will participate as host teams, according to Netball Singapore.  
This tournament was held for the first time in 2006 and Singapore Netball is organising it for the 14th time this year.   


Sri Lanka was last invited for the Singapore Nation Cup invitational tournament in 2013.  
Sri Lanka has never won the tournament, managing fourth position in 2007, 2008, 2012 and 2013, and fifth place in 2011.  
Sri Lanka Netball Federation (SLNF) has made arrangements to select a new head coach and call a national training squad for the tournament.
