Sri Lanka to host CAVA Volleyball Tourney

Sri Lanka have received the hosting rights for the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) Under-20 Junior Men’s Volleyball Championships, which will be held from October 6 to 12 at the Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo.    

The Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation (SLVB) will conduct this tournament with the participation of six regional teams - Nepal, Maldives, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka will take on Nepal in the curtain-raiser match of the tournament on October 6.

The champions and the runners-up of this tournament will qualify to participate in the 2025 Asian Under-20 Men’s Volleyball Championship.  

SLVB sources revealed that this tournament will be conducted at an estimated cost of Rs. 21m.    

The match schedule:

October 6: Sri Lanka v Nepal, October 7: Sri Lanka v Maldives, October 8: Sri Lanka v Kyrgyzstan, October 9: Sri Lanka v Turkmenistan, October 10: Sri Lanka v Uzbekistan, October 11: Ranking matches and semi-finals, October 12: Third place match and final.
