Western Province completed a grand double when they clinched the Men’s and Women’s titles at the 48th National Sports Games (NSG) racing cycling team championship in Mahiyanganaya.   

North Western Province emerged runners-up in both Men’s and Women’s events of this meet, conducted by the Sports Development Department of the Sports Ministry and sponsored by Nestle Lanka Limited.   

Meanwhile, national-level rider Chamod de Silva of the Western Province won the Men’s racing event after covering the 174km course in 2:43.00s.   

W. A. A. Sandamini of the Western Province took the Women’s racing event after she covered the 73km course in 2:27.36s.   

The winner of both Men’s and Women’s events received Rs. 50,000, runners-up Rs.40,000 and third place Rs. 30,000.
