Bourse dips further

Uncertainties in the Colombo stock exchange further dipped the market into the negative territory today where risk appetite was seen at bay during trading.
ASI dipped by 65.72 points (-1.04%) to end at 6,282.00 and sensitive MPI decreased by 75.9 points to (-1.33%) settle at 5,628.93. The market turnover remained low at Rs.689.6mn. 
 
Commercial Bank Plc (Rs.46.7mn) emerged as the highest contributor to the daily turnover followed by Regnis (Lanka) Plc (Rs.42.4mn) and John Keells Holdings Plc (Rs.27.1mn). Furthermore Commercial Bank Plc recorded two crossings of 0.4mn shares at a price of Rs.108.00.
 
Meanwhile heavy market participation was witnessed in retail counters such as Blue Diamonds Non-voting, Panasia Power Plc and HVA Foods Plc.
 
Foreign participation was registered at 13.96% of the total market activity. And at the end of the day foreign investors were the net buyers with a net foreign inflow of Rs.29.3mn.
