Hugely popular YouTube series ‘Chicken Shop Date,’ which brings together global celebrities for candid, often humorous interviews over a meal have filmed several episodes at various Sam’s Chicken restaurants in the UK. Sam’s Chicken, founded by prominent British Sri Lankan entrepreneur Sam Chandrasinghe, operates over 50 locations across the UK. As part of this collaboration, Sri Lankan brands like Elephant House Ginger Beer (EGB), and the newly launched Sam’s King Coconut Water regularly appear alongside Sam’s meals during these episodes. The strategic placement provides these local brands with invaluable international visibility and allows them to reach new global audiences.

Despite his accomplishments abroad, he remains deeply connected to his roots, regularly financing his alma mater Ananda College’s annual football tournament, ‘The Sam Chandrasinghe Football Cup.’ Through initiatives like this and his strategic brand collaborations, Mr. Chandrasinghe continues to support Sri Lanka’s presence on the global stage.
