The Sri Lanka Navy has urged the public to avoid being caught in human trafficking, trying to migrate illegally, and becoming guilty before the law. This request has been made after a coordinated search operation carried out by the Navy and Police in Negombo last week, in which two suspects were taken into custody in connection with a human smuggling case.
