The Development Officers Service Union staged a protest in front of the Ministry of Public Administration yesterday demanding that the trainee graduates recruited in 2019 who completed one year of training be included to permanent carder and over several demands.
Relief packages were distributed among the residents of the Walpola area under the instruction of Ragama Police acting Chief Police Inspector OIC L.B Abeyratne. The residents earlier demanded sufficient food and essential items to be given to them as they are not getting adequate food and other essential needs.
All Island Catering and Banquet Hall Owners Association held a press briefing yesterday where they requested the President to reconsider the Government’s decision to limit the number of persons to participate a wedding or functions. Association President Athula Kaluarachchi said they are confronted with a lot of issues with this restriction and therefore urged the President to increase the number to at least 150 attendees.
