The Rajya Osu Sala of the State Pharmaceutical Corporation has taken steps to send medicines to people’s doorsteps on request. The government said only the Osu Salas were permitted to operate during the curfew period but many of the Osu Sala outlets were seen closed yesterday. The outlets have resorted to the option of sending medicine to the homes.
The new Isolation Unit, consisting of 16 rooms, at the National Institute of Infectious Diseases (IDH), which was completed within ten days was handed over to the Director General Health Services, Dr. Anil Jasinghe by the Sri Lanka Air Force yesterday.
Construction of Isolation Wards at the National Institute of Infectious Diseases (IDH) by the engineering team from the SLAF Directorate of Civil Engineering is to be completed by tomorrow. The construction of two Pre-Fabricated buildings commenced on the 18th of March under the direct supervision of Air Force Commander Air Marshal Sumangala Dias. The new isolation facility is expected to be inclusive of 16 isolation rooms.

The Sri Lanka Navy has developed a disinfection chamber to prevent and control the spread of new coronavirus. Navy said the Eastern Naval Command and the Western Naval Command developed the disinfection chambers. Naval personnel who are engaged in essential services outside the naval bases were sterilized on their return to work.
A supermarket of Keels at Kurana, Katunayake has been robbed by a man who broke into it after breaking down one of the glass panels last night. Pictures and video circulating on social media sites show the man carrying a sword breaking down the glass panel, entering into the supermarket and then collecting goods before leaving.
An island-wide curfew was declared over the weekend in order to contain the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic in Sri Lanka. While the curfew resulted in a complete shutdown of services across the island, it has resulted in a unique problem for the large number of stray dogs in the hill-country estates.
