Comments - Gazette issued declaring railway services as essential service
President is not needed not essential anymore Tuesday, 12 September 2023 07:02 PM
President can get military to run the trains if trains are so essential. The most non-essential unnecessary thing in the country is Ranil the President.

Does anyone other than these two scoundrels, the pin president and the minister really believe that the engine drivers will succumb to the railways being declared an essential service?

This is a disgrace. How dissatisfied people are with RR government. In the morning there was a huge presence of police and military officers near old parliament. Obvious to suppress some protest. Now this gazette to frighten Railway workers. Hold elections and let the people elect a proper Government that can move the country forward.

Ranil might be thinking he can put any sector of the economy as 'essential service ' and expect an end to all strikes. He is in for the shock of his life!

Good move, but it would have been better if Railway is privatized to serve the people better services.

So, UNHRC is quite correct over draconian law and suppression in Sri Lanka as no care of trade unions over their to sort out like the colonial rule.
