It’s ironic how certain groups always find negative things to say about any development in the country. What’s more surprising is that many of them don’t even live here, yet they feel entitled to criticize those trying to bring about positive change without giving them a fair chance. If you’re not contributing to the country in any way, the least you can do is refrain from making unconstructive comments.

It is in the manifesto as reported so we have to give them that chance to implement what they said they were going to do.Too early to pass judgement, have to see how it works in practice, but they have a plan and they seem to be following their plan.

This is a good idea but I would suggest that the government should establish free and independent political institution to train , educate , develop snd enrich the skills snd knowledge of newly elected MPs in to parliament… what should be they learning ? 1) How to debate in the parliament: train them in logical and rational methods of debating and presenting arguments in the parliament.: 2) the principles of Sri Lankan constitution : how to understand it and how to interpret it 3) political philosophy of some modern political ideology ( capitalism, Marxism, socialism and lift and right political groups ) 4) Geopolitics : Regional politics and Sri Lankan political history as well 5) Duties and Responsibilities of MPs toward the nation and people 6) language classes to improve all three languages 7) Interpersonal and intercultural skills, IT skills and communication skills Before you monitor them please educate them and train them.: how could you monitor them without teaching them

First of all teach them about the parliament procedures, custom and traditions . How could you monitor them unless they have been told, trained and advised what to do ? It would be better to have a unique political institution to train all those new MPs and educate them in our political system covering many areas of modern politics and local politics:

So We have a cabinet with juniors and a Super Cabinet now! another way to increase the team size. The current Cabinet with juniors appears to be slightly larger than the last cabinet RW seeya had to pull the country to some sort of safety. Are we getting overwhelmed with our enthusiasm for the NPP to succeed and not seen the reality in true colour. How big was RW cabinet? Lets keep our team on check from the beginning so that we dont have to change them in 5 years. Monitor the Tender Evaluation committees and Tender Spec drawing committees using an unannounced different team. This is where the rut happens.

The JVP accepts donations to the official party accounts from any donor. Then they have a way of taking care of their members using party funds. So this back door operation too can (and probably already has) lead to vested interest donations been pumped in. Further it is well known election spending etc is done from donor to supplier for the benefit if the politician. If not the Malimawa social media campaign cannot be done for such low price. AKD must ensure this mechanism is not used to allow corruption in a different way. Monitor such funds too

What nonsese are these people talking of monitoring and supervising. When a Ministry is allocated to a Minister it is on the understanding that he is competent to work independently with his team otherwise what happens is duplicating of human resources etc. which costs the taxpayer. The JVP/NPP is talking some rubbish as they are novices some of whom have not had hands on experience even in running a small business outfit and by their utterances they expose the smattering knowledge of governance. Having qualifications is only one tool. Lack of experience in taking this country forward will result in a complete breakdown as there is nothing innovate but old policies are continued to cover the vacuum of out of box policies.!!!

Probably Mahinda had a monitoring division to find out how much each minister and the officials were making thru graft and whether his portion is passed on correctly. That's why Ali baba told his 40 thieves to steal as much possible without getting caught.
