Colombo, Sep 8 (Daily Mirror) - The Postal Department said that around three million official polling cards for the upcoming 2024 Presidential election have been distributed nationwide so far.

The distribution process, which began on September 3, is set to continue till September 14. 

Deputy Postmaster General Rajitha Ranasinghe said that today (September 8) Sunday, has been designated as a special day for polling card distribution.

"Although it is a Sunday, we have declared it a special day for the distribution of official polling cards. We aim to ensure that polling cards are delivered to each household between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.," Ranasinghe said.

He urged citizens to stay at home on the designated day to receive their polling cards, as a signature will be required upon delivery.
