Colombo, August 29 (Daily Mirror)- President Ranil Wickremesinghe said he will appoint a committee to look into matters regarding the enactment of new laws against corruption.

Speaking at the ceremony to launch his election manifesto, he said the committee will comprise members appointed by the Speaker, professional association, the Bar Association of Sri Lanka (BASL) and the Chamber of Commerce.

The President said some of the laws against corruption have already been enacted while some more are still to be enacted.

"Everyone is talking about taking action against corruption and to catch thieves. How are they going to do it? We are bringing legislations to net thieves. It is easy to talk," he said.
