SJB indulging in cheap politics: Ruwan

Colombo, September 13 (Daily Mirror) - Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) is practising cheap politics by hurling a false allegation that there is a political deal between independent candidate Ranil Wickremesinghe and National People's Power (NPP) Candidate Anura Kumara Dissanayake, UNP Deputy Leader Ruwan Wijewardene said today.

“It is clear that the SJB is displaying political bankruptcy when one considers the kind of allegation its members are making,” Mr. Wijewardene told a media briefing.

“Anura Kumara Dissanayake is coming up with various statements from time to time. He tells the village people that an administration under him will have nothing to do with the IMF. However, he tells Colombo people that he will continue the engagement with the IMF. Why is this contradiction?” he asked.

“Some candidates are campaigning for change. The country cannot afford a change at this point in time. What the nation needs is economic stability. A change will destroy this stability. A so-called change would lead the country to another election in at least two years’ time. Another camp is trying to promote its team. There is no use of a good team if they don’t have a good leader to guide them. SJB has a good team, but they don’t have a good leader to guide them and the country,” he stressed.

And your boss isn’t is it? Look at the slew of policies he’s immediately implementing within the past weeks which he claims were not possible earlier mainly due to IMF restrictions. How many people struggled and are still suffering due to his tactics of delaying much needed assistance. He enjoys seeing people suffering I feel! You guys have ample legally or illegally funds parked for emergencies. But majority of the people live day by day with hardly any spare money. All waiting for their salaries or monthly bank interest to make ends meet. This has been going on for many decades and it’s time to remove all who were assigned the task in building the country currently or previously.

Ruwan you should first identify the beginning of this tirade of theses cheap politics. It was Ranil who was always siding Anura in having a better followership whilst belittling and damaging the SJB reputation. There is no necessity of speaking of Anura because he is a forked tongue politician who speaks one thing to the business community and tells the opposite to the ignorant villagers who are not coversant with the mechanics of the IMF funding. First advise your boss to reign his tongue when there are crowds for his meeting imported from different districts like Anura who is a also a master in importing from far flung areas to show he has several supporters which is not the case. So this cheap politics is like the saying "Tit for Tat butter for fat"!!!!!!!!

Regret when you say Sajith thus far he has done nothing for the country. He has done much in the last four years more than any Opposition leader from housing to upgrading schools in IT and their transport by giving away smart TV and buses. Ranil knows he is definitely going to lose, so he is offering various concessions to people in order to make it extremely difficult for the next president to work. (ii) Printing money (SL) resulting inflation (iii) Sell whatever available (iv) Take over all the Fixed deposits of Sri Lankans. (v) Money that swindled or illegally earned, to be made legal for using for government expenses. (vi) Devolution of Judicial power to carders with dispute resolution councils, like in 1988-90. Ruwan was right on one point: the country needs a "good leader", in other words, it needs an exceptional, strong leader in these times, which are still very difficult for most people!!! But if you look closely, where is he!!!??? He is not to be found among the candidates most often mentioned!!! They are all politically lower class!!! None of these candidates has the human and political stature to "cleanse" the country, to lead it and develop it further!!! Most of them have already demonstrated their incompetence at the level of party leadership!!! Only Sarath Fonseka combines all the leadership qualities that make great statesmen!!!
