Colombo, August 03 (Daily Mirror) - The Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) and the faction of the United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) led by Dayasiri Jayasekara have decided to support Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa in the upcoming Presidential Election.

The electoral support of the UPFA and SLFP for Premadasa announced by Jayasekara is backing the "wrong horse"!!! You can't win voters with a lame horse that would be better off grazing its pension in the meadow!!! Premadasa as president would be a human and political catastrophe because on the one hand he has no convincing political skills, let alone leadership skills, and on the other hand he would suffer from constant over-exertion!!! He has shown that he is not capable of leading the SJB, resolving conflicts appropriately and taking criticism!!! At the same time he is alienating the best people and is not capable of bringing the party together internally!!! Here too, unfortunately, these Premadasa supporters believe that this is how they can secure their political survival and income!!!

This is the biggest problem in SL. MPs elected by people are moving all over the place. No stand, no firm policy, no vision, no decency; only objective is personal gain. You don't see this anywhere else in the world. This is exactly what NPP is saying and why NPP is miles apart. People should try them at least once. If SL people don't learn this time, they never will. Why SL has 225 of these half brainy ones draining public funds?

A MP crossing over to another party carries with him his peoples vote i.e. Janasaviya, samurdhi, Aswesuna beneficiary not the floating votes . Sajith Premadsa or JVP has to depend on votes from people who are not Beneficiary and minority votes is very important(a. THIs attitude may have changed now.
