Why don't our navy just blast them out of the water so that they'll have second thoughts and ask questions later?

Indians are exactly like the Israelis encroaching into other countries and taking their lands by force. India are land hungry one one side they are fighting with Pakistan for Kashmir and on the other side fighting with China for Nepal region. Now, they want Katchaitheevu in the North of Sri Lanka and the Seas surrounding Sri Lanka. Best way to stop this is to BLAST THE INDIANS coming into Sri Lankan Territory. No Mercy!!!

What's the point of talking about the problem and not doing anything about it? Just shoot and sink them! What's the big deal here?

@ Peace Lover. I am an Indian. I do not support encroachment of SL waters by Indian fishermen. You are totally wrong about Kashmir which is legally Indian territory which was invaded by Pakistan and part of it was gifted to China. India has not made any efforts to re-take it. The Indian public's complaint is that we tolerate our neighbours' bad behaviour too much. You might have read in recent news about Chinese incursions into Indian territory. The Indian Govt. is more cruel to Indians than India's neighbours.

@ siva. Although I have no deep knowledge of the history of Kashmir, what I know is that the Hindu Maharaja opted for India to save the lives of the Hindu minority population. In spite of his wise decision, the minority were "cleansed" from the Srinagar valley. While on the same topic, the Nizam of Hyderabad opted for Pakistan, but the then Home Minister, Patel "convinced" him by military force to join India. Not surprisingly, no minorities were harmed. Indian fishermen poaching in SL waters is clearly not part of a plan to start a war. Fishermen of all countries do this for their survival although it is illegal and I am in no way supporting it. I am also aware of the ill-advised Indian support of LTTE in the 80s. India was a victim of the same in Punjab in the 80s and is experiencing this in Kashmir.

@ siva. Regarding the ill treatment of Sri Lankan pilgrims in India, although I have not heard about this incident, I can imagine it could be true because it is common knowledge in India that foreign tourists are harassed by those in the tourism industry and pilgrims from SL were not specifically targeted. It could also be related to the backlash to the situation in Myanmar. The shameful harassment of foreign tourists is targeted by public awareness campaigns in the Indian media.

It is better to arrange a meeting between TN fishermen & SL (north) fishermen. They will sort it out and catching fish without affecting each other. The politicians/navy made this issue so complicated and confusing public

Dear Colleagues, For your better understanding. Kachcha-thiva or Katchatheevu or Kachchativu (Tamil: கச்சத்தீவு, Sinhala: කච්චතීවු) is a controversial uninhabited island administered by Sri Lanka. In 1974, India forcibly recognized the Sri Lankan ownership to the island on a conditional agreement. It has a Catholic shrine and has been declared as a sacred area by the government of Sri Lanka.
