This is a short documentary about Noori, a sceneic village 14 Kilometers off Deraniyagala where many atrocities are alleged to have taken place. Many victims did not want to be on camera and many didnt speak to us in fear of reprisal. However, the short film depicts ‘ the tip of the iceberg’ in which the Police, Politicians and Criminals collude to further a reign of terror on innocent villagers.

Thank you Daily Mirror for giving us this horrendous and heart breaking news which no other media has done. Can't imagine Politicians elected by the people can resort to such a low level. Is the President sleeping or is he under the impression that building super highways and other mega projects will transform Sri Lanka into a wonder of Asia?

Thank you Daily Mirror for the great work! The UPFA government has too much power is corrupt and there is no sign of the UNP coming to power.
This is very bad for the country and I am blaming the UNP for not having a leader with a vision, strong and capable of defeating this government.
Ranil will never be voted as the leader of the country because he signed a CFA with LTTE.
Hence he should pave the way for some one else to take the leadership and build the party.

Subsequent to these events on Noori many other unlawful acts and events have followed that may take too much of The Mirror's time to cover fully. However, the public would appreciate it very much if one story of these heinous acts is covered to the final closure. Why not make it Noori.? Once the public concern dims the actors have a free hand to do what they want. May your journalists have strength of character and fist!

Is this 21st Century Sri Lanka? No wonder SL is now 28th in 'Failed State ranking; only with the likes of Somalia, Afghanistan 'ahead' of us. With this YouTube [we salute DM] SL would soon be in 'Club' of the first 3 Failed States. What a sham 'Democracy' sans Law & Order. Thugs stuff ballot boxes and prop criminals to power - only to see this mayhem and terror. Nihal was a decent bloke - would not harm a fly - have known him for 40 years. Oh! the agony he underwent by the clubbing, stabbing and cutting. Let these perpetrators burn & rot in hell! RIP Nihal

Nihal Perera was my podi mama. I am so proud about his honesty right until his last moment. I have no words to express my grief podi mama. Thanks to Daily Mirror, attakota and the kalliya are being exposed. I hope Gotabaya will do justice as the final verdict on these murderers is given by him and not with the team of lawyers who are working on the case. I feel ashamed of myself for returning to our motherland after living overseas for 25 long years only to find that the Tamil terrorism has been replaced by the sinhalese led by the third grade politicians and the only qualification they require is :THUGGERY. GOD FORBID ATTAKOTTA AND HIS KALLIYA. PODI MAMA OUR THOUGHTS ARE ALWAYS WITH YOU AND THE FAMILY GATHERS OFTEN TO GRIEVE FOR YOU. we all miss you so much.
MAY YOU ATTAIN NIRVANA

So many years those innocent and poorest Tea Pluckier s suffered due to terror and Police was watching providing support to those murderers.
Tea plucking innocent Tamils were forced to sleep with them in front of their husbands and Brothers. Many got killed . including a DEAF BOY AND HIS BROTHER OF same family.. Husbands were killed in front of wives. while in front of Children..The whole area was very silent including Bhudhist Monks , Politicians, and many.
Now the whole country is awaken after killing the Manager. His background was strong and he belongs to the majority Sinhalese. Now every body is waken . FINE .......!.

you are right, there is no UNP or other govt. raising their heads in the far horrison. Dont blame the opposition for it, at this junture even a 'POLPITAK' as a opposition leader should be able to win the race with a large majority, if not for the ' jilmart' computer system. God save our country.

When the political higher up's, turn a blind eye to the atrocities being committed by their very own supporters, then its the beginning of the end for any country. We all had so much of hope , after the defeat of terrorism that a new ear would dawn in Sri Lanka. It has become a nation of thugs ruled by thugs. Its a virtual nightmare now. I am too old to leave this country, but I fear for the young generation to what they would inherit.

What a beautiful country Ceylon was in the 40's and 50's? . The ROT began in 1956 for political expediency. No one wants to accept the truth of the deterioration of the country from that time.
Once a country goes in this direction it never comes back, It ends up like Somalia or Zimbabwe. If freedom of the PRESS is lost then everything for there on is over.

If this government wants to clear these crimes, it is not a big deal for Brothers. But they use 2/3rd power only for their survival, not for lawful peoples’ grievances. Miracle of Asia is very very far away in its real mean, but in opposite mean absolutely we are. Srilankan Politicians will never bring us real peace for lawful people of all race, now only way is to take foreign community intervene, which politicians will blow it as a big ghost, only because it is a threat for their survival and what they doing for themselves would not be possible then.

The "Proud Father" who boasted about eliminating terrorism, has now become the God Father of State sponsored terrorism against innocent citizens. It is time to issue a revised version of Mahinda Chinthanaya now, to be called "Mahinda Hinsanaya".
